Rust makes a priority of giving back to our communities and supporting causes we believe in. Every year, we commit to supporting deserving organizations through a number of initiatives.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Rust partners with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to raise funds for the annual St. Jude Give Thanks. Walk.(TM) fundraising campaign. Proceeds from the walk help St. Jude Children's Research Hospital advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. The 2015 walk was held in 58 cities nationwide and the Minneapolis/St. Paul event raised nearly $165,000. Rust has had the top-ranked corporate fundraising team in the Minneapolis/St. Paul walk for two years in a row.
In 2009, Rust launched its own internal organization, Project Solas, dedicated to increasing employee awareness of philanthropy, and to getting employees involved in charitable giving activities that support their personal values. Money raised by teams of co-workers fuels a grant matching program which allows Rust employees to apply for grants to match their personal donations to charities of their choosing.
Cancer Research Funding
Rust has suffered the losses of many employees to cancer, including Complete Claim Solutions (CCS) founder Dawn Addazio in 2008. Addazio named CCS after the initials of a dear friend who struggled with the challenges of breast cancer. As part of our commitment to our communities, each October—National Breast Cancer Awareness Month—Rust Consulting and Kinsella Media reach out to our friends and clients through an annual campaign to raise awareness for and honor those affected by breast cancer. In addition, Rust has contributed tens of thousands of dollars through corporate contributions and employee-raised funds to a number of deserving organizations dedicated to cancer research, treatment, and prevention.
